Worship music is my all time favorite type of music to listen to. I love doing this in church, at home, or driving in the car. Sometimes it is hard to find worship songs that speak to you. These are a couple of my favorites and why. (Not in any specific order)
1. The Father’s house – Cory Asbury
I love everything about this song from the beat to Cory’s voice but most importantly the meaning behind the lyrics. The lyrics were written to express Gods unconditional love and to provide us with perseverance. Like when he sings “love is breaking through when the fathers in the room” This shows all of the helpless times and struggles God fixes and turns them into miracles all with the power of his love.
2. 10,000 reasons – Matt Redman
This song is all about worshiping God for all of the greatness he provides. “Bless the lord of my soul ooh my soul. Worship his holy name” There are more than 10,000 reasons to praise the lord. His love, goodness and kindness are just a couple.
3. Good Good Father – Chris Tomlin
As you can tell from the title this song talks about what a good father God is. “Your a good good father it’s who you are it’s who you are and I’m loved by you it’s who I am it’s who I am” The song goes on to explain all of the stories we have heard about his greatness, his love for us and answers were all searching for that only God can provide.
4. Stand in your love – Josh Baldwin
This song is such a great reminder to never be fearful. It repeats this verse over and over to remind us of this “My fear doesn’t stand a chance when I stand in your love” Especially when darkness and sorrow tries to break us but it will never shake us when we stand in your love.
5. My story – Big Daddy Weave
I love this song because of the way it is beautifully written to describe our individual stories joined into one persons story, this persons name is Jesus. “Oh to tell you my story is to tell of him” We are all apart of Jesus and his story God has written.
6. Great are you lord – All sons & Daughters
This song goes on and on describing how great our lord is from him restoring every broken heart, giving life, light and hope to each and every one of us. “it’s your breath in our lungs so we pour out our praise to you only” God is so good, how can we not continue to praise him?
7. Reckless love – Cory Asbury
I do not know a single Christian who does not love this song. The song goes on to describe how good God is to us. From his “overwhelming, never ending reckless love of God” that we have done nothing to earn he just continues to give himself to us.
8. No longer slaves – Bethel Music
This song is so easy to relate to. When it explains how God has chosen us while in our mother’s whom, how we are no longer slaves to fear because we are his children and have been born again. All such important things to remember and worship in thanks to this great God.
9. Every Blank Page – Wolfgang Maximilian
I remember the very first time I heard this song, I was at young life camp and it was our first club. This was the very first Christian song I truly listened to and actually heard the words. I remember as sat and listened to the song I began to cry as I was opening my heart up to God. This song is just one of the many great songs by Wolfgang.
10. Rescue Me – S. Martin
I love this song “Rescue Me” by S. Martin as well as many of his other songs he is such a talented artist. This one might be my favorite. The way he brings in so many heartbreaking stories into one song singing “come Rescue me” When life gets hard and you feel as if your drowning God will rescue you!
