In God’s Image

I created a book inside words, saying the things I love to do as a reminder to myself. Things I need to do to take care of myself. The things I am proud of, the circumstances I have overcome. I am statements and self prayers. By doing this I have brought healing and self love in my direction, I am grateful. My soul was incontrol of the making of this project.

My biggest weakness has always been not taking good care of myself. I have a passion for helping others. Since I am not good at taking care of myself it makes it harder and tiring for me to continue helping others. I cannot pour from an empty cup. This book of affirmations and self-love reminders. They will help me pour into my cup before pouring into others so I can be the best version of me and because of this I am able to do what God has called me to do.

One of the pages of my book is a drawing of a tree. At the roots are the hardest challenges I have ever faced. Challenges that could have prevented my tree from growing, but because of Jesus I was still able to grow and my tree produced so many branches filled with healthy leaves. Each branch is something I am proud of. The person I am becoming as I grow. My tree is still growing and more branches are on their way. As a tree ages more roots grow. More hard things will happen. That does not mean the branches stop growing, in fact it’s the opposite. It allows more branches to grow. through it all my three guardian angels are watching me grow from above, with the birds.

While at camp kayaking alone looking towards the shore of Castaway God placed the words “Be here” on my heart. “Be here” and let your thoughts be here too.

For so long I have been distracted and disconnected. My body is in one place and my mind is in a completely different state.

When this happens I miss what God is doing. Where He wants me to be. He wants me right here, in the place He brought me.

If I did not allow myself to be fully in the present moment I would have miss these fake flowers I found all over camp, just like the ones I found from my mom on her death anniversary and birthday. I found them at camp in the house-keeping closet, next to a tree I was doing a bible study beside. On the side walk, and in the hallway. My moms sprit was and is with me. I felt her telling me she is proud of me and happy seeing me at camp. I would not have experienced this if I wasn’t fully there.

My takeaway now that I am back home I make sure to continually check on myself and make sure I am present where my feet are.

Repentance is a word I have been learning recently. I have always been very hard on myself and not forgiving when I make a humane mistake. God he has grace and mercy for us when we make mistakes like I did this morning waking up at 9:24 when class started at 9. When I miss church or fall behind in my bible study plans. He forgives us. Repent it does not mean the same as regret, it’s a sincere apology. God he doesn’t want us to be ashamed or embarrassed, he just wants you to repent and he will give you his grace and love. I think of it like this: When I was little and accidentally broke something of my moms I would be so scared to tell her thinking she would never forgive me, once I told her and was honest, she gave me her love and grace. If I wasn’t honest she was disappointed. God wants his children to be honest with him, just like how parents know everything, so does God ;). Be graceful and loving towards yourself and others during this time of change and uncertainty.❤️

I know I talk about my soul all the time but I feel it is so important in every aspect of life. Your soul, It’s your life. It’s the feeling of pure joy and happiness as well as sadness and heart break, our soul is what makes us. It’s what lives on for enter all life, not our body’s but our soul.

You know the saying don’t judge a book by its cover? Well don’t judge a soul by its body. Your soul is the most beautiful thing no matter what. Take good care of it. Let it be free spirited. Do things that a good for your soul.
