Now that Valentine’s Day has come to an end, we can talk about what the true meaning of love really is. Most of us think of love as your relationship status and yes that may be one type of love, that’s not the love I’m referring to. I mean love love. The most important love of all. God’s love. God created us with his love. In return all he is asking for is for us to love him back. To love each and every person the way God loves them and how he loves us.
“You shall love the lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Matthew 22:37-39).
So many of us live a life looking for love from that special someone. Thinking we cannot love ourselves unless a certain someone loves us back. If you are that person looking for love you can put your searching to an end because you ARE loved. You are loved by the creator himself. You are loved by God. Gods love for you is infinite. He will never stop loving you so never stop loving him.
God used the power of his love to create each and everyone of us. This means love is the most powerful thing. Love can save. Love can heal. Use the power of love in your everyday life. Give love by opening the door for someone. When you walk past a stranger smile. When you buy your groceries and the employee says “have a nice day” respond with “you too” but this time mean it. Say I love you to your loved ones. Hug people goodbye. Live a life spreading Gods love.
