With lent being over I want to share what I learned, hoping in return to help you to realize things you have learned and can take with you as a lesson from Jesus.
I gave up coffee, my favorite: hobby drinking coffee in the mornings. You may be thinking what could you possibly learn from giving up a drink that some people don’t even like. Well I really did learn a lot and I think you did to. I believe we learn valuable lessons everyday we just have to focus a little bit more. The 40 days of lent with no coffee I learned many things. I learned what it means to sacrifice, to give up something. I learned how to recharge myself not from caffeine but from God. I learned how to love other things like orange juice. I also learned how to appreciate the things we take advantage of especially right now, not even being able to have the privilege of going to school. When I got to drink coffee again I loved it more than I ever did before because I appreciate it now.
This got me thinking about a couple of questions I want you to try and answer to yourself. How many things in life do we take advantage of? Why can’t we truly appreciate what we have until it’s gone? After really taking time to think about these two questions think about ways we can change this. To appreciate the things we have without giving them up or losing them.
One last thing I learned and to me it’s the most important. Sacrifice. Jesus sacrificed his life for us! In return we should sacrifice for others, I’m not saying sacrifice your life, that’s not what I mean at all. I mean sacrifice your time or give to someone who has less than you or even someone you think has more than you. Learn from Jesus and listen to the lessons he is teaching.
