I’m so horrible with time, in many different aspects. Whether it may be getting to school on time or making it just in time for a super long line at the store. The only timing I have got down perfectly is when to make my morning coffee. The thing I am worst at is knowing the right time to speak up. I have been praying about this for a while now, asking God to helping me find good timing in all aspects of life, today God answered my prayer and I didn’t even realize it for a second. I was reading my bible plan and the chapter I am in right now is Ecclesiastes. Ecclesiastes 8:5 says “ The wise heart will know the proper time and the just way. For there is a time and a way for everything” God has reminded me that there is a proper time for everything, he is the proper time. He is teaching my heart the meaning of patience, and how to become wise and I wise heart listens to God and follows his timing.
I found a journal entry that I wrote while at Timberwolf young life camp. The camp that if you currently attend Sparta, Comstock Park or Kenowa Hills high school you have the opportunity to visit.
I want to share my journal entry with you.
“God is in control” -“these were the lyrics to a song in club and stood out to me. In my life I feel so out of control, lost and scared for what my future holds. I feel confused and so alone, but I have to remember I’m NOT alone and God is in control!
Young life is the most beautiful I’ve seen in my whole life. You feel so different when your at camp or even just with the people, your leaders. I feel so close to God and just so much healthier. Yes I have sadness but at camp they have reminded me that I’m in Gods hands and I will be okay, no matter what happens.”
Young life is truly amazing. It is better than Disney and that’s saying a lot! The reason I shared my journal entry with you was to show you my true pure feels and thoughts I had at Timberwolf. I want more than anything for you to feel the same way I did. Feel God‘s presence, be reminded that he is in control of everything. He’s telling you “just trust me I got this” “relax I got this” I’m telling you , you the person reading this right now. Relax, Gods got this.
I’m serious if you are from Sparta, Comstock or Kenowa go sign up for fall weekend! I promise you this, you won’t regret it! ❤️
In the book of Luke it talks about a story where Jesus healed a women when she simply touched him.
Luke 8:45-48 And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!” But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that the power has gone out of me.” And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”
This story reminds me of the first time I felt Jesus, I felt Jesus when I was at Young life camp. I remember it so clearly. We were in club and the person who was preaching to us that week, his name was Luke. He was talking about Jesus and the way he loved. We began to sing worship songs (I didn’t know a single word) but reading the lyrics on the screen and slowly gaining the strength to start whisper singing I began to touch Jesus and in that moment he healed me. My heart did not hurt anymore, my eyes were filled with tears of joy and my soul was forgiven. Jesus heals! He will heal you! All you have to do is touch him.
Stop, take a second put whatever you’re doing down, take a moment and just forget about the list of things you have to do today, breathe and look outside. Try and find something you wouldn’t have noticed if you didn’t take a second to just breathe. Maybe it’s the sound of birds chirping, the warmth of the sun, a leaf slowly falling from a branch, maybe even hug a tree (they give some of the best hugs). Whatever it may be, just take a second to be with Nature, to be with God and his perfect creation.
There is a song written by Dierks Bentley called “living” if you haven’t listened to it I think you should and if you have listened to it, play it again and really listen to the words. It really spoke to me. I find myself not fully appreciating all God’s given to me. Instead of just breathing and waking through life on cruise control, stop, slow down and appreciate all the gifts God has given. I promise you it will change they way you see each and every situation.
Love God, love people, love the world ❤️
Jesus calms a storm
Matthew 8;23-27 “And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”
One of the most extraordinary things is watching God create miracles, make the impossible possible. Stress blinds us from see this take place, blinds us from what is going on in the spiritual world. It makes us unable to see what God us doing in our lives, the prayers he’s answering, the good he has blessed us with and the love he provides. When we are able to clear are minds, shown to us is the good, the light in our darkness and the healing that is to come.
I don’t know about you but I want to see God in action and the only way to do that is with a clear mind and full trust in him. There are so many ways to clear your mind and be fully present with the Lord. For you it may be taking a walk, going for a run or bike ride. My favorite is meditation. You can do this anytime of day. The point of meditation is to allow your whole entire body and mind to relax, your mind to be crystal clear. This is when you can take a moment and just simply be with God. Soak up his marvelous presents and let him rejuvenate your heart, soul and mind.
Let God remain in control, not stress and anxiety. Removes throughs burdens and give them to God, seek rest in him. Let him rejuvenate your heart, mind and soul.
Hi this is me feeling like a kid again. Being free spirited and careless, not having a worry in the world and just having pure joy for life. What an awesome feeling that was and is. I want to have my faith be like this. Seeking joy in learning more about Jesus, being curious and always wanting to learn more and more. Unable to end a pray because I want to talk to him forever. Never doubting him but fully trusting him. Always having hope, and most importantly having pure love for him. When we sin accept his forgives and not carry the weight any longer. This is having “child like faith”.
I saw a quote that said “The same Jesus who is with you on the Mountaintops is also with you in your valleys.” Sometimes I catch myself only praying or turning towards God when things go wrong, when there’s hardships in my life, when I met a mountain top. I forget to turn off auto pilot mode when things in my life are going good instead of thanking him, and inviting him through this beautiful valley I’m in.
Jesus should be your best friend. He helps you get through the hardships, he loves you, he laughs with you through the good times and is always by your side.
I personally want to make sure I’m including Jesus on my every day life. Not just when I need some thing but to even tell him how my day went. He’s always listening, always loving and always there. ”The same Jesus who is with you on the mountaintops is also with you in your valleys.”
As I was driving home tonight listen to 91.3 on the radio the radio host read the verse Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” As he read this I felt that my prayers had been answered, God was speaking though him and I wanted to share this with you as well.
Having joy and peace in believing is so important, it will bring so much healing to your soul. It does not mean you have to find joy in traumatic life events but to find Joy and peace in believing God is with you, God is for you. God loves you. That is where you should find your joy and peace always. Doing this will provide us with hope. Hope that things will get better.
I may not know what your life is like, what prayers you have needed answered but if you let me know I will pray for you. I pray that if you are still reading this you find joy and peace in believing.
Only a year ago did I learn the great love of Jesus, but what a great year that’s been. My circumstances have not been perfect but Gods love has been and he has taken good care of me through all the hardships.
I still not have found a church I would call “mine” I’m still hoping around. I also would not say I have a certain religion yet. Without both of these things I still feel so unbelievably loved by God.
I think it is so amazing to have both of these things but I also think it’s okay if you don’t. Sometimes I feel we get caught up in what religion we are or what church we go to instead of focusing on what they all have in common, Gods love.
I don’t want this to come of in anyway as a bashing towards religion I think it is such a beautiful thing. Sometimes I feel we are so focused on being religious to our religion instead of being religious to God.
Whenever someone asks me what religion I am I say I’m religious to God. Since I learned about the Bible, Jesus and his undying love for us last year it has been hard to feel like I fit into a certain religion. For the people who are like me just now finding the beautiful love of Jesus Christ. My advice to you is don’t feel overwhelmed with finding a certain church or religion. Just be faithful, love God and love people.
“Fear not, for I have redeem do you;
I have called you by your name;
You are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; In though the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, I give Egypt a ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you.” Isaiah 43 1-4
Through life will all will face deep waters, fast paced rivers and flames, but our Lord, God he does not let us face them alone, he is always with us. “Because (we) are precious in (his) eyes, and honored, and (he) loves us”
