Life is all about change. Life is all about balance. Life is hard. It is hard to find balance with change. My change; losing my mom. My balance; planting flowers in honor of her.
I’m so horrible with time, in many different aspects. Whether it may be getting to school on time or making it just in time for a super long line at the store. The only timing I have got down perfectly is when to make my morning coffee. The thing I am worst at is knowing the right time to speak up. I have been praying about this for a while now, asking God to helping me find good timing in all aspects of life, today God answered my prayer and I didn’t even realize it for a second. I was reading my bible plan and the chapter I am in right now is Ecclesiastes. Ecclesiastes 8:5 says “ The wise heart will know the proper time and the just way. For there is a time and a way for everything” God has reminded me that there is a proper time for everything, he is the proper time. He is teaching my heart the meaning of patience, and how to become wise and I wise heart listens to God and follows his timing.
In the book of Luke it talks about a story where Jesus healed a women when she simply touched him.
Luke 8:45-48 And Jesus said, “Who was it that touched me?” When all denied it, Peter said, “Master, the crowds surround you and are pressing in on you!” But Jesus said, “Someone touched me, for I perceive that the power has gone out of me.” And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed. And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”
This story reminds me of the first time I felt Jesus, I felt Jesus when I was at Young life camp. I remember it so clearly. We were in club and the person who was preaching to us that week, his name was Luke. He was talking about Jesus and the way he loved. We began to sing worship songs (I didn’t know a single word) but reading the lyrics on the screen and slowly gaining the strength to start whisper singing I began to touch Jesus and in that moment he healed me. My heart did not hurt anymore, my eyes were filled with tears of joy and my soul was forgiven. Jesus heals! He will heal you! All you have to do is touch him.
Stop, take a second put whatever you’re doing down, take a moment and just forget about the list of things you have to do today, breathe and look outside. Try and find something you wouldn’t have noticed if you didn’t take a second to just breathe. Maybe it’s the sound of birds chirping, the warmth of the sun, a leaf slowly falling from a branch, maybe even hug a tree (they give some of the best hugs). Whatever it may be, just take a second to be with Nature, to be with God and his perfect creation.
There is a song written by Dierks Bentley called “living” if you haven’t listened to it I think you should and if you have listened to it, play it again and really listen to the words. It really spoke to me. I find myself not fully appreciating all God’s given to me. Instead of just breathing and waking through life on cruise control, stop, slow down and appreciate all the gifts God has given. I promise you it will change they way you see each and every situation.
Love God, love people, love the world ❤️
Jesus calms a storm
Matthew 8;23-27 “And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”
One of the most extraordinary things is watching God create miracles, make the impossible possible. Stress blinds us from see this take place, blinds us from what is going on in the spiritual world. It makes us unable to see what God us doing in our lives, the prayers he’s answering, the good he has blessed us with and the love he provides. When we are able to clear are minds, shown to us is the good, the light in our darkness and the healing that is to come.
I don’t know about you but I want to see God in action and the only way to do that is with a clear mind and full trust in him. There are so many ways to clear your mind and be fully present with the Lord. For you it may be taking a walk, going for a run or bike ride. My favorite is meditation. You can do this anytime of day. The point of meditation is to allow your whole entire body and mind to relax, your mind to be crystal clear. This is when you can take a moment and just simply be with God. Soak up his marvelous presents and let him rejuvenate your heart, soul and mind.
Let God remain in control, not stress and anxiety. Removes throughs burdens and give them to God, seek rest in him. Let him rejuvenate your heart, mind and soul.
“Fear not, for I have redeem do you;
I have called you by your name;
You are mine. When you pass through deep waters, I will be with you; In though the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, I give Egypt a ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you.” Isaiah 43 1-4
Through life will all will face deep waters, fast paced rivers and flames, but our Lord, God he does not let us face them alone, he is always with us. “Because (we) are precious in (his) eyes, and honored, and (he) loves us”
The golden rule;
Growing up at the start of every school year we would make a social contact each year someone would write on there the “Golden rule” I never took a second to really dwell on this word and all that it meant.
In the chapter of Matthew 7:12 Jesus describes the rule perfectly. “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them”
This is the best way to live a Jesus filled life, treat others how you want to be treated. This goes even for your worst enemy, your best friend, or even a stranger. Treat them how you want to be treated. With love and kindness, without judgement.
This also goes for our actions. When you are driving down the road be aware of the cars around you. Turn your high beams off as you pass a car at night. When social distancing wear your mask not just for you but for the ones around you. Someone I know said it perfectly, “I wear my mask to protect you and you wear your mask to protect me”
Let’s live our lives following the rules of the Golden rule. A lesson we were taught from the beginning. Ask yourself how would you like to be treated in everyone if life’s experiences. ❤️
•You are loved
•You are wanted
•You are enough
•You are a child of God
•You are not alone
•You are Gods creation
If someone has ever said you were not loved, wanted or enough they were wrong, you are all of those things no matter the sins you have done. God does not expect us to be perfect he expected us to be human. Jesus died on the cross so our sins would be forgiven.
It is so easy to get stuck in the image social media expresses, never feeling good enough cause you don’t look like someone or don’t get as many likes. Don’t change yourself for others, God created you perfectly.
Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. He determines the number of starts; he gives to all of them their names. Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.” Psalms 147: 3-5
Have you ever laid outside and tried counting the stars? I sure have multiple times. Each time I would lose track and eventually stop counting. I like to think of the stars as a reflection of earth. Each and everyone of us is a star. There are billions of people on this earth and we couldn’t possibly count them all if we tried, just like when we try and count the stars. Jesus on the other hand he has counted all of the stars and given them all names, just like us.
I’m telling you this because you may feel invisible, unnoticed on this earth but Jesus he notices you, he knows you, he knows your name and he wants you to know his too. So next time you go star gazing and you try counting the stars remember that our God was not given named almighty for nothing, he was named almighty because he counted the stars and knows them by there name, just like he knows you by yours. If you are still reading this I want to remind you that you don’t go unnoticed. 🙂
Father’s Day is a very important day. There are so many amazing, loving dads to be thankful for. So many grandpas to hug. For some people today is a hard day because they lost there amazing, loving father, or there grandpa who had the best hug. For others today is just a normal day because they never had an amazing, loving father. I never celebrated Father’s Day, but today I am. I am celebrating Father’s Day in honor of my Heavenly Father the Holy Spirit. He is the most loving, kind, caring, pure hearted Father. He is my heavenly Father, he is you’re heavenly Father, he is your neighbors heavenly Father. If you have a amazing, loving dad or a grandpa with the best hug celebrate them, but also make sure to thank your Holy Father for blessing you with them. Happy Father’s Day to the amazing, loving dads, and to the grandpas with the best hugs. Happy Father’s Day to the “unbiological” dads. Happy Father’s Day to any male role models. Happy Father’s Day to the soon to be dads. Happy Father’s Day to the dads who we lost to soon. Happy Father’s to our Heavenly Father. ❤️
